Book #4: Bain and Lin meet up with Sister High Scholar Marnya, a member of the Order of Kilvordi – the Church scholars and scientists who brought civilization back from the destruction of the Downfall and took Humans back into space. Marnya needs their help on a very important mission: She needs to travel in disguise, to see if the conditions on the colony worlds match the reports that she receives. Someone is trying to kill members of the Order, and Marnya is the most important target of all.

Book #7: In the Downfall, many gifted races fled the death of civilization. One of them, the Leapers, has come home. Fortunately, Lin and Bain meet them first.

Book #2: Bain's prayers were answered: Captain Lin Fieran wanted him to stay on Sunsinger and be her crew for another trip. Things got complicated by pirates and by people who didn't want to leave their homes.

To make matters worse, Bain knew Lin wanted him to stay on Sunsinger with her and Ganfer, just as much as he wanted to stay, but someone in authority was getting in the way. Lin had to keep a secret from him, and if she told him what it was, he might never be allowed back on board.

Book #5: Bain and Lin take a life-saving vaccine to a colony world and get caught in the middle of some dangerous secrets the colonists don’t want anyone to learn. When Bain gets kidnapped, it takes more than courage and faith to break free.

Book #8: Bain and Lin are sent to Aramar, a planet on the brink of civil war, to assist the Commonwealth's ambassador with a very important mission.

Book #1: Orphan Bain Kern lives on a colony world in path of an alien invasion. When Bain and other orphans are shipped out on the Free Trader ship, Sunsinger, he meets Captain Lin Fieran and her ship-brain, Ganfer. Lin makes Bain a deal: help her with the evacuation, learn everything she can teach him, and she'll make sure he gets a posting to a ship so he can follow his dream: becoming a Spacer.

On what should be a short, simple voyage, Bain learns that being born a Spacer isn't enough -- it's a matter of the heart as well as the head.

Book #3: Bain and Lin agree to help with the Fleet test a shield that will keep ships and maybe even colonies invisible to the alien Mashrami.

The only problem is, Lin has to get Sunsinger very close to the aliens in order to test it!

Book #6: Lin and Bain solve a mystery and stop a plague on Centralis -- home of the Commonwealth Council and the Commonwealth Upper University.

Book #9: The colony world of Gemar has fascinating secrets, such as the legends of the Hoveni -- shapeshifters. It also has bitter secrets dating back to the war with the Mashrami. And someone is using those secrets to convince Gemar to leave the Commonwealth and rejoin the Conclave.

Leaper Captain Lorian and the crew of the Estal'es'cai are caught in the upheaval when those secrets turn deadly, and it becomes the job of Bain and his fledgling Scouts to solve the mysteries before terrorism turns to revolution.

Book #10: Bain and his first generation of Scouts receive their first ship -- and their first mission.

Someone attacked Sunsinger. The ship might never fly again.

Ganfer's memory banks are damaged, possibly destroyed.

Lin is missing ...
