Eyes reviews:
AZULI
EYES is the first book in Michelle Levigne's new Chorillan Cycle series.
... This book had a good story on an interesting world with a
nice solid ending. Miranda is
a strong independent female heroine who can look after herself, and
doesn't need to be rescued. Although
this book is science fiction and takes place on another world, the people
are grasping with issues not dissimilar to our own; there are discussions
on politics, religion, environment, and gene research all neatly built
into the plot. Here, as on
our own planet, children seem to suffer from the adults mistakes.
I enjoyed the developing relationship between Ian and Miranda and
will be interested to see where further books take them. Romance Junkies * Blue Ribbon Rating: 3.5 * Reviewed by Jaynie Ritchie In AZULI EYES, Michelle Levigne has created an entire universe around the concept of mad technology running rampant among the stars. ... once all is revealed, AZULI EYES is a very good science-fiction novel that uses intelligent writing to entertain rather than graphic violence. All major and minor characters have ulterior motives, and it's hard to distinguish the good guys from the bad. Ian and Miranda are both complex, multidimensional characters with their own inner battles to fight, but who don't allow those struggles to hold them back. Their attraction to one another is a slow burn, which is just as potent as a raging inferno. ... The first in the Chorillan Cycle, AZULI EYES by Michelle Levigne is a good start to the series, and no doubt will be enjoyed by many. Romance

By Michelle Dragalin A Romance Review * Rating: 4-1/2 roses * Reviewed by Vikky. This is an excellent SF adventure story, with realistic characters placed in a carefully designed world/universe. While one expects the primary protagonists to be lively characters, it is unusual for secondary characters to be as genuine as the ones in this novel. I found myself caring what happened to each and every one of them. The plot is painstakingly designed to increase the suspense of the hunt for the criminals, while at the same time, Miranda and the Scouts continue the search for the missing children. I was pleased that the different storylines were resolved without leaving threads hanging. I tend to judge a book on how strongly it pulls me into the story. Azuli Eyes caught me and wouldn't let me go until I finished it! I recommend it for readers who enjoy science fiction. Fallen

Eyes is an engaging book on many levels. The bulk of the story takes place
on Chorillan, but it is clearly only a small pocket of humanity in a wide
universe. The detailed cultures of spacers, Scouts, Gen'gineers, and
colonists are a strong hint of the direction this series will take.
The situation is intriguing, with enough depth that I was never quite sure
where it was going until it got there. I found Miranda's bulldoggish
stubbornness realistic and compelling. Many of us hope we would act the
same way in a child's cause. Azuli Eyes is an excellent science fiction
book with emphasis on characters and plot rather than
shooting-anything-that-moves. I look forward to the sequel. Sime-Gen * 4 Stars * Reviewed by Jeanette Cottrell Scout's Pride reviews: Kay'li's
journey to find herself and her place in the universe is quite daunting.
She must live up to the reputation of her father and expectations of her
mixed blood. Time after time she proves that she is more than worthy of
the respect shown to her. Her sense of duty and honor has been ingrained
since childhood and she will never let her father down. ... Michelle L.
Levigne has created an immense universe with unique concepts which require
considerable explanations to understand. The main focus of the book is on
Kay'li's growth and drive, serving as a transition to link Azuli Eyes -
Chorillan Cycle Book #1 with the expected third book in the Chorillan
series. This story line has piqued my interest and I will be continuing to
read more of the series as they are released. Fallen Angel Reviews * 4 Angels * Reviewed by: Naomi

An
exciting read that takes the reader through the years of Kay'li's youth to
the time she chooses a career. A new life awaits her as she learns about
the Scouts proud heritage and begins the search for the woman she will
become. A very enjoyable tale with a great cast of characters. You'll be
looking for the next part of this tale to see what happens next in
Kay'li's life. Any sci fi reader who likes a bit of romance and myster
will find this a delightful way to spend the time. Highly recommended.

By Fire and Stars is able to be enjoyed without prior knowledge of the first two ... but the reader's enjoyment is sure to be enriched if the series is read in order. The characters are strong and grow through their own efforts and challenges. Lucas is only a boy when introduced, but his capacity for growth and responsibility is clearly established. ... Readers who enjoy Sci-Fi/Futuristic tales should definitely give Michelle Levigne's Chorillan books a try. I am quite eager to see where this series will go next. She had never severed the bonds but underestimated how important her carefree youth had been. Lucas is not sure if her can trust Kay’li and is unsure if she is loyal to his cause or that of her family. He is not willing to let the Wildings suffer if he is wrong. Together they must act quickly to find the most peaceful solution for the Chorillan society. Readers who have followed Michelle L Levigne’s Chorillan series are sure to enjoy the reunion of Kay’li and Lucas. … Once again, Michelle L Levigne capably creates her world of unique flora and fauna brought alive through strange and descriptive names. … This concept is well-thought out and is sure to be remembered for its originality. Lucas and Kay'li first told their story in SCOUT'S PRIDE, the second book in the series. ... Although the writing can be a bit choppy at times, the story is nevertheless enjoyable, mainly due to the characters and their inner, and outer, conflicts.
